As I read these verses today, I am amazed at how much God loves us. The ruler of the universe, talking with Moses, watching over his people, seeing what they do right, and what they do wrong. I am also reminded of God's incredible patience, tolerance, and compassion. I am so thankful that God loves us enough to bear with us and our sinful ways. I am thankful that he gives us many, many opportunities to repent. It is my prayer that God will always walk with us, and that we can lead lives that he is pleased with.
What stood out for me is when Moses asks to see God glory, Gods response. I think that most would agree that Moses was asking to see God plainly, not thru a bush, cloud, or pillar of fire. Gods response was to show Moses His goodness, mercy, and compassion. To see God plainly all we need to do is look at the goodness in all of His creation, and the mercy and and compassion He has on us all.
What stood out for me is God could have showed Moses how powerful he is, God instead chose to reveal his love for us. God's glory is revealed in his mercy, grace, compassion, faithfulness, forgiveness and justice. God's love and mercy is truly wonderful, and I am blessed to be on the receiving end of his love, as well as those who called Jesus Lord.
