What does this passage tell you about God?

This passage tells me that God is an adventurer. He knows that my life is a journey like Abram's. And he comes and meets me along the way in certain places and at certain times to encourage me in the journey. I need to remember that no matter how tough the road ahead looks, God wants great things for my life just like Abram. When I can keep this perspective I am not only blessed but I will be a blessing to others as Abram was. It is important for me to slow down and recognize when God is encouraging me. Abram did this by building an altar where God spoke to him at the great tree. This is a place that he and his sons would often come back to and remember the promise of God. I think about how many prayers and dreams that God has answered that I don't even remember because I don't slow down and build memorials to the Lord in my heart. None the less, God is building memorials all through my life and I praise him for being so good to me!
