The scripture here in Hosea 2 beautifully paints a picture of how madly in love with me (us) God is. I read this and am filled with a sense of God's justice in how he conducts himself in his relationship with me and the rest of his people. He is not like me, who gives up pursuit of the wayward when the pain becomes too much to bear. Rather, like a husband who truly loves his unfaithful wife or a father who drops everything to devote himself to the well-being of his troubled daughter, God is active in saving us from the dangers we sometimes lust after. While there will be recourse if we choose adultery with the pleasures & securities of the world, God will dust me/us off as he's done so many times before and make himself truly known to my heart, to our hearts, and to the hearts of those who've never known him. His ultimate goal is to be with me/us in perfect love & unity. I need to be like this with my fallen brothers/sisters. "if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself" - 2 Tim 2:13

This scripture helps me to see how real and soft God's heart is. It helps me to feel a lot closer to God when see how much like me (us) God is (Or how much we are like him!) This scripture also helps me to see how my sin truly effects God and thus deepens my convictions about sin and God's love!
