Psalm 18

What does this passage tell you about God?

I really like how David can go on praising God for so long. Lots of the time in my prayers I praise God for a second but then go on to just thank him. I think praising
God longer gives Him even more love and respect than just thanking him for everything. David seems to be so good at this for many reasons one being he actually takes the time to write down his praises to God. Maybe doing this could help all of us be able to praise like David.

Why should I be the one?

Storm sent this for me to post:

Why was i chosen to endure such a life?
The hardships, burdens, tribulations and strife.
Why must i endure the pain of this weary, worn body?
A down-cast heart only portraying to love me.
Why do i weep these tears in anger and frustration?
My dreams, not merely defered but captured and ransomed.
An unpaid dept no end in view, i am not happy, anew
Like the rainbow's beauty so brilliantly hued.
My destiny hidden in this fog trodden pace
No means to and end, no beginning to race
How can i live this travesty, mimicked?
Devastated with guilt and cloaked in shame
No mask to adorn my face to cesure my pain
Alas this wretched, weak heart i bare--entrusted it lies
Encased behind flesh as if gleeful with pride
Unwillig to reveal the hopelessness and despair
I'm yearning, begging for an end to be near--------who?
Come closer to, Oh One who is lost!
You who are not seeking, or paying a cost
Your humor is not shed for the mercy of many
Your body not beaten or stripped of its dignity
You have not been ridiculed or nailed to a tree
While watching your mother's tears fall in dirt at your feet
No other child was born to endure such a death
Pierced through His side as some jeered--others wept
Continuing to give mercy to others rather to himself
A servant completely, no complaints, no regrets
He being sinnless died His cruel death
So One, come, hasten and draw near
Close, now nearer while these words are exposed
Refrain from your speech, lend a young ear
As this reproach its' intent is drawn as that of the spear
No groans have you bore through flogging of thirty-nine lashes
No thorns in your skull, and no splinters purge your back
Have you carried the weight and sins of this entire world?
No fault of your own except chosen to be born?
Though obedience and His love was His price
He unransomed your dreams, paid for with His life
Without so much as a scream through His agonizing torture
The grace He has given has not been forfeitered
So One, abolish self-pity, pride and shame
Stop choosing to be lost, burdened and damned
No more grief to hold to, no more yearning for end
Remember you are greatly loved, try,-- comprehend
His life was given hence be not deceived
It was given willingly that you may be freed
From the life of your past, feet unfettered
Satan can no longer hold you or cast you downward
The price has been paid no dept to be had
So, One lift your head, eyes and heart to the heavenly realms
And thank the Almighty Father that your life has been spared.

I often can feel distress, the depth doesnt so much matter, but that david called out to the lord when he knew he needed to. and that was a constant. I need to continually learn from that. in my sinful pride i get stressed and often full of self-pity(2cor 7) and need to draw to God for his strength, forgiveness and power. most of all-love, so that I can help others to reap the benefits of a solid relationship w/God
