see verses 42 - 44: The stone rejected by the builders is King Jesus, rejected by the jews. He has become the cornerstone of the new Kingdom of God. "Anyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces..." When we were met, we stumbled over this stone, the truth, by faith, that Jesus is the son of God. Brokenness of heart is a result of really encountering Jesus. However, for some, this doesn't happen - why? Who are: "and it will crush anyone on whom it falls"? Reminds me of Luke 14:31-32 Don't want to get to the end of life and face King Jesus as an enemy - and have him "fall on you" in battle...

Jesus is giving us a warning about the truth. Here we need to make sure we are including our selves as possibly the tenants. When we reject God doubt God and rebel agaist him we are saying that we are right and he is wrong. In the end if we don't repent we will be crushed to dust by the stone. God is fare and just.
